Story Recap
The year is 2101:
Earth has been largely consumed by a rampant viral infection causing nearly all major city-centers to come grinding to a halt. In a reactionary measure, the Elias team began selecting planetary candidates for a colonization mission. Over the course of 15 years, the funding for the mission was secured and the first of the transport ships completed. Conditions on Earth at that point had deteriorated and in an attempt to preserve human life, boarding began promptly as applicants had been screened and selected beforehand.
In 2116, the Elias pilot ship 'Voyage' departed Earth and headed to an exoplanet by the name of 2MASS J23062928-0502285 g or TRAPPIST-1g. The planet was located among other habitable candidates among the TRAPPIST-1 star system. It, along with the others, were confirmed to have liquid water prior to take off by the Elias research team.
The ship is set to arrive to the star system in 2156. All members of the Elias project will be subject to periods of cryogenic hibernation to ensure quality of life upon arrival.
The Infection
Victims exposed to the virus have a 100% mortality rate. There is no known cure, therefore any individuals showing the following symptoms must be quarantined indefinitely. From research obtained on Earth, victims typically do not show symptoms of infection until approximately 24 hours after they encounter the point of origin. During this time, the infection risk is minimal. Beyond this point, victims may experience excessive perspiration, high fever, and body aches.
If any individual within the Elias program experiences these symptoms, please alert the Vessel Operations crew to escort the suspected individual(s) to a designated quarantine area for questioning and examination.
Within 24-72 hours after the symptoms are detected, infected individuals begin to disassociate with other people within their environment. They typically become non-responsive to verbal commands or limit themselves to short, one word answers. They also begin to become increasingly irritable and are easily escalated into violent acts. From this point on, their mental condition continues to worsen. We urge any individual to report any suspicious activity for the safety of all crew members and passengers.
